Cathay Pacific has officially unveiled the Aria Studio, a new business class cabin that will appear on its Airbus A330-300 aircraft for regional flights across Asia. The A321 runs a 2-2 configuration, and the Boeing 773 regional goes out in a 2-3-2 layout - neither of which is great for a premium product.

The Aria Studio is a meaningful step forward for A330-300 operated routes, offering a much more private, modern seat. Cathay hasn't revealed full pricing or award availability details yet, but this is the kind of product that makes redemptions on these routes genuinely exciting rather than just a stepping stone to long-haul.

The catch - and it's a meaningful one - is that many of Cathay's regional routes are operated by the A321 or the 773, not the A330-300. So you'd need to check the specific aircraft type before booking to make sure you're landing on the new product rather than the old one.

British Airways has confirmed that the Galleries lounge at Newark Liberty airport has closed for refurbishment - and it won't reopen until next summer. The closure coincides with the 80th anniversary of BA's transatlantic operations, and the refurbished space will become part of BA's new Global Lounge Concept rollout.
