  • 🏅 A Deep Dive Into the Singapore Airlines Loyalty Programme: Everything you need to know.

💥 Make the Most of the Singapore Airlines Redemption Sale

Looking to score some discounted award flights? Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale is back, offering a 25% discount on award redemptions.

This sale covers over 100 routes across economy, premium economy, and business class. However, the sale only includes economy flights from Europe.

💡 What’s the Deal?

  • 25% off Saver award tickets across Singapore Airlines' destinations.

  • Book by 22nd September for travel between 15th January and 29th May.

  • Blackout dates apply to some routes, so check your travel plans in advance.

  • No special promo codes are needed! You’ll see the discounted fares when booking directly via Singapore Airlines’ website or app.

Flights from Europe to Singapore in Economy on selected routes are now 31,500 miles:

🚫 Blackout Dates

Blackout periods for flights from the UK are in place from 1st April to 3rd May 2025, so you'll need to work around those dates.

If you plan to travel during the blackout period, consider flying from another European city. For example, the blackout dates for Frankfurt, Munich, and Zurich don’t start until 18th April.

The blackout dates end early for flights from Barcelona (21st April) and are entirely different from cities like Copenhagen (31st March).

Business Class redemptions are available but not from Europe. Deals include:

  • Flights to select destinations in West Asia and Africa for 32,500 miles.

  • Flights around Asia for 15,750-39,000 miles, depending on the distance from Singapore.

Premium economy redemptions include:

  • Istanbul for 32,500 Miles

  • San Fransisco for 56,250 Miles

  • New York for 60,375 Miles

Remember, you don’t need to have KrisFlyer miles for redemptions. You can book Singapore Airlines through other airlines in Star Alliance (although not at these great rates), which include:

You can also opt to collect KrisFlyer miles when you fly with some of these airlines rather than miles from the airline's own loyalty programme.

If you’re planning a trip early next year and have some KrisFlyer miles (or points to transfer), this sale is a fantastic way to save miles on long-haul flights. Plus, with the broad travel window and generous discount, it’s more flexible than their usual Spontaneous Escapes deals.

Just be sure to book before the sale ends on 22nd September to lock in those savings!

🏅 The Singapore Airlines Loyalty Programme

Singapore Airlines is one of the biggest airlines in the Star Alliance. The loyalty programme currency is KrisFlyer miles, which are earned based on the distance travelled and fare class.

You can use this Singapore Airlines mileage calculator to work out how many miles you'll earn.

You can also earn miles when flying with other airlines in the Star Alliance, staying with selected hotel brands, including:

  • Hilton

  • Millennium Hotels

  • Marriott

  • Hyatt

  • Accor

  • IHG

You can also earn miles by renting a car, using credit card points (e.g., AMEX Membership Rewards at a 1:1 rate/Marriott Bonvoy 3:1), and even shopping.

Singapore Airlines also has other partners outside the Star Alliance, including Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, and Virgin Atlantic.

🛫 How to Redeem KrisFlyer Miles

Miles can be redeemed for flights on Singapore Airlines or its Star Alliance partners, with two redemption tiers: Saver and Advantage.

Saver awards require fewer miles but offer limited availability, while Advantage awards cost more but provide more flexibility.

You can also use miles for upgrades and shopping via KrisShop.

Earning KrisFlyer Status

There are two main levels of elite status: KrisFlyer Elite Silver and KrisFlyer Elite Gold, followed by the premium PPS Club and Solitaire PPS Club statuses aimed at higher spenders in premium cabins.

Everyone starts at the basic tier, which is just called 'KrisFlyer'.

KrisFlyer Elite Silver Status

Once you earn 25,000 Miles in 12 months, you'll move to KrisFlyer Silver. However, this tier doesn't include lounge access. Benefits include:

  • 25% Mileage Bonus: For example, a flight that would typically earn 1,000 base miles would instead yield 1,250 miles for Elite Silver members.

  • Priority Waitlist: A better chance of getting a seat on fully booked flights.

  • Complimentary Seat Selection in Economy

  • Priority Check-in and Boarding

  • Priority Standby: If your flights are fully booked, you will receive priority when placed on the standby list.

KrisFlyer Elite Gold Status

You must earn 50,000 miles in 12 months to move from Silver to Gold. This is the status tier to aim for! You will get excellent benefits when flying with Singapore Airlines and the Star Alliance network, including:

  • Lounge Access with a Guest: You can access Singapore Airlines' SilverKris Lounges (for international flights) and bring one guest travelling on the same flight.

  • Complimentary Forward Zone Seat selection in Economy Class

  • Star Alliance Gold Status: One of the most valuable perks of KrisFlyer Elite Gold status is that it matches Star Alliance Gold status, giving you benefits across the 26-member Star Alliance network, including access to over 1,000 lounges regardless of travel class, priority check-in and boarding and an additional baggage allowance.

You will now be able to earn milestone rewards. Some of them include:

  • 20,000 Elite miles: 25% bonus KrisFlyer miles on top of base miles for one flight segment.

  • 30,000 Elite miles: 50% mileage bonus for one flight segment.

  • 60,000 Elite miles: A reward to earn double KrisFlyer miles for one flight segment

  • 100,000 Elite miles: Premium economy class advance upgrade

🏆 Singapore Airlines PPS Status

The Singapore Airlines Priority Passenger Service Club targets high spenders flying in premium cabins.

It's awarded based on the amount spent rather than miles collected. To be eligible, you must earn 25,000 PPS value - a measure of the amount spent on First Class suites or Business Class with Singapore Airlines).

  • Exclusive Lounges: This includes the Private Room at Singapore Changi Airport.

  • Priority for boarding, check-in, and baggage handling even when you fly in economy.

  • Complimentary Upgrades: While KrisFlyer Elite members can only use miles to upgrade, PPS Club members are often eligible for complimentary upgrades based on availability.

Solitaire PPS Club Status

When you earn 50,000 PPS value, you will move to the highest tier - Solitaire PPS Club Status.

To earn Solitaire Status, you must spend a SUBSTANTIAL amount on First Class or Business Class tickets.

Additional perks include personalised concierge service, guaranteed seat availability, Solitaire membership for one nominee, an even higher baggage allowance and access to all PPS Club lounges. You can even bring multiple guests into some lounges.
