This is the most underused trick in the Amex Platinum playbook. When your card arrives, so do two Priority Pass cards - one for you and one for your first supplementary cardholder (free to add). Additional guests beyond that are charged at £24 each, billed automatically to your Platinum card by Priority Pass. American Express allows Platinum cardholders to use their Priority Pass for an £18 food and drink credit at three specific UK airport restaurants (not lounges). American Express has been expanding its own Centurion Lounge network, and Europe now has two locations. The Heathrow Terminal 3 Centurion Lounge has been open for some time and is widely regarded as one of the best airport lounges in the UK. The Amsterdam Schiphol Centurion Lounge opened earlier this month, giving UK travellers connecting through AMS a premium option on the continent.

Access is available to anyone holding a Platinum or Centurion Amex card. Following a rule change in July 2026, you can now only bring one guest (previously two). If your partner holds a supplementary Platinum card, they can also bring one guest - so a family of four remains covered. Further Centurion Lounges are planned at Charlotte Douglas (a second site), Newark Liberty and Boston Logan.

If you ever fly with Delta Air Lines, your Amex Platinum gives you free access to Delta SkyClub lounges - even on a domestic US itinerary where a First Class ticket alone would not get you in. This is a solo benefit only (no guests). Note that it does not cover the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Heathrow T3, which is Delta's London facility - only Delta-branded lounges qualify.

On the rail side, Amex Platinum covers access to all three Eurostar Business Lounges - London St Pancras, Paris Gare du Nord and Brussels-Midi. (There is no dedicated lounge in Amsterdam or Rotterdam.) This benefit is cardholder-only unless your partner holds a supplementary Platinum card. Crucially, it is only valid on journeys starting or ending in the UK, since all lounges are behind passport control. With lounge access sorted by the card, there is a reasonable argument for booking Eurostar Plus rather than Premier - you get the same seat and the card handles the lounge.

Priority Pass membership with unlimited free entry for both the cardholder and a guest is not something you can buy directly - Amex Platinum is the only route to it. The closest equivalent Priority Pass sells directly would cost significantly more per year and still would not cover a guest on every visit. At £24 per additional guest, even one or two lounge visits with a family easily saves £48-£96 per trip compared to paying at the door (where lounge entry typically costs £30-£50 per person).

Add in the restaurant credits (up to £36 per trip for two people at qualifying UK airports), the Centurion Lounge access, and the Eurostar lounge benefit, and the cumulative saving across a year of regular travel is substantial.
