Loganair has just launched a rather tasty 50% flash sale on Loyalty Reward Flights, cutting the cost of a one-way redemption from 6,500 Avios down to just 3,250 Avios. If you've been sitting on a pile of Avios and wondering what to do with them, this could be a cracking opportunity.

The timing couldn't be better. With spring approaching and the longer days making Scotland's stunning islands and regional UK destinations more appealing, this sale opens up some genuinely useful redemption options that weren't there when Loganair Loyalty launched back in April 2025.

The Key Details

Here's what you need to know:

📅 Booking window: Tuesday 3 February – Tuesday 10 February 2026

✈️ Travel from: Saturday 7 March 2026 onwards

💰 Price: 3,250 Avios one-way (normally 6,500 Avios)

⚠️ Taxes and surcharges still apply (no airfare though)

That's a saving of 3,250 Avios per flight – or 6,500 Avios for a return trip. Not life-changing, but certainly enough to make this worth considering if you've got travel plans that align.

How to Book

Booking is straightforward, but there are a few hoops to jump through:

  1. You'll need to be signed into your Loganair Loyalty account

  2. Select 'Spend Avios' as your payment method at checkout

  3. Bookings must be made via Loganair.co.uk or the Loganair app

If you haven't already linked your Loganair Loyalty account to your British Airways Executive Club account, I'd recommend doing so. This allows you to pool your Avios and transfer between accounts – handy if you've got Avios scattered across different programmes.

Where Can You Fly?

Loganair operates an impressive network of over 70 routes, serving 40+ destinations. The airline's sweet spot is connecting places that larger carriers simply don't serve – think Scottish islands, regional UK airports, and some surprisingly useful city pairs.

Some routes that catch my eye for this sale:

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scottish Islands: Barra (the famous beach runway!), Islay (whisky lovers rejoice), Kirkwall (Orkney), Shetland, Stornoway, Tiree

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England & Wales: Manchester, Southampton, Exeter, Cornwall Airport Newquay, Newcastle, Norwich, Cardiff

🇮🇪 Ireland & NI: Dublin, Belfast City, City of Derry, Donegal

🏝️ Channel Islands: Jersey, Guernsey

🇳🇴 Norway: Bergen, Stavanger, Esbjerg

For me personally, the Scottish island routes are where this partnership really shines. These are destinations that British Airways simply doesn't serve, and flying beats a long ferry journey every time.

The Fine Print

As with any promotion, there are some exclusions to be aware of:

  • Orkney Inter Isles routes are excluded

  • Interline and codeshare flights don't qualify

  • Cannot be combined with other offers

  • You won't earn Avios on reward flight redemptions

  • Changes made after the promotional period may require additional Avios

The promotion is also subject to availability, which tends to become more limited as the booking window progresses. If you know you want to use this, I'd suggest booking sooner rather than later.

Is This Worth It?

Let's do some quick maths. A typical Loganair 'Fly' fare (which is what this redemption replaces) usually costs somewhere between £60-120 depending on the route. At 3,250 Avios, you're getting around 1.8-3.7p per Avios – which is solid value, especially compared to some British Airways short-haul redemptions.

For context, I typically value Avios at around 0.8-1p when used for short-haul travel, so getting 2p+ per point is a win. The Scottish island routes especially tend to offer better value since they can be pricey to book with cash.

My Take

I've always thought the Loganair-Avios partnership was an underrated addition to the Avios family. While it doesn't get the attention that British Airways or Qatar Airways redemptions do, it fills a genuine gap in the network – particularly for domestic UK travel to places that bigger airlines ignore.

This 50% sale makes an already reasonable redemption rate considerably better. If you've been thinking about visiting the Scottish Highlands and Islands, the Channel Islands, or simply need a regional UK connection, this is the time to book.

Just remember: the booking window is tight (only one week), and availability will likely diminish as more people catch on. If something works for your schedule, I'd book it now rather than wait.

Need More Avios?

If you're short on Avios, there are plenty of ways to boost your balance. The Capital on Tap Business Card remains one of my favourite ways to earn Avios on everyday business spending, with no annual fee and 1 Avios per £1 spent. Happy travels!
