Seats.aero Gets a Major Upgrade: Singapore Airlines Support and More!
New Features Make Finding Your Perfect Award Flight Even Easier
Since its launch, Seats.aero has been one of our favourite tools for finding award availability, and their latest update makes it even better. Let's dive into what's new and why it matters for UK travellers.
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Integration (Beta)
This is huge news for premium cabin enthusiasts. Singapore Airlines is notoriously protective of their first and business class award space, often reserving their best seats (including the coveted A380 First Class Suites) exclusively for KrisFlyer members. Now you can search these directly through Seats.aero!
For UK travellers, this is particularly valuable for routes between:
London and Singapore
Singapore and Australia/New Zealand
Connections throughout Southeast Asia
If you're sitting on a stack of American Express Membership Rewards points, this new feature is especially relevant since you can transfer them directly to KrisFlyer.
Smarter Suite Detection
One of my personal frustrations when booking premium cabins has always been the uncertainty about exactly which seat product I'll get. Seats.aero now solves this with enhanced aircraft configuration detection.
For example, if you're looking at ANA's Chicago to Tokyo route, you'll now know exactly which days offer their new individual suites versus their older (though still comfortable) business class product. This is particularly useful when both configurations operate on the same aircraft type - in this case, the Boeing 777-300ER.
They've also improved their Qsuites detection, which is excellent news for anyone booking Qatar Airways flights. You can now be certain you're getting the true Qsuite experience before transferring those precious Avios.
Enhanced Search Features
The "Show individual flights" mode has received a significant speed boost, making it much more practical for daily use. You can now quickly filter by:
Aircraft type
Flight duration
Number of seats available
Operating carriers
This is particularly useful when trying to find specific products like Japan Airlines' new A350-1000 First Class or ensuring you get the latest business class products.
New Alert Features
If you're like me and regularly search for specific routes, the new alert exclusion feature is a game-changer. You can now exclude airlines you don't want to fly with or those that consistently show availability but don't work for your needs. Pro users can even set default exclusions for all their searches.
Additional Tools
They've also launched two new tools:
Great Circle Map: Perfect for visualizing routes and planning multi-city trips
Points vs Cash calculator: Helps determine whether using points or paying cash makes more sense for your booking
Why This Matters
For UK travellers, these updates significantly improve our ability to find and book premium cabin awards, especially on routes to Asia and Australia. The enhanced suite detection feature is particularly valuable when trying to maximize the value of your points and ensure you're getting the best possible product for your redemption.
If you're planning any premium cabin bookings this year, I'd highly recommend giving these new features a try. You can even use them alongside our How Many Avios Points for a Flight calculator to compare options across different programs.
Have you tried any of these new features yet? I'd love to hear about your experiences in the comments below!
Note: A special perk for Pro users - you can claim a free shirt while supplies last!
