Singapore Airlines Business Class Review: Bali to Hong Kong via Singapore

Experiencing SQ's Renowned Service on the Boeing 787-10 and Airbus A350-900

Flight Details:

  • Route 1: DPS-SIN (SQ935) - Boeing 787-10

  • Route 2: SIN-HKG (SQ896) - Airbus A350-900

  • Lounge: Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge (Changi T3)

  • Points Used: 34,000 KrisFlyer miles + £34 taxes (total for both flights)

I've long been a fan of Singapore Airlines, and these flights reminded me exactly why. While some airlines have different seat products across their fleet, I was pleased to find the same excellent business class seats on both the 787-10 and A350-900. Both were incredibly comfortable and perfect for these medium-haul routes.

The SilverKris Lounge Experience

The SilverKris Lounge at Changi Terminal 3 is a fantastic space to relax between flights. With plenty of seating, excellent food options, and attentive service, it's exactly what you want from a premium lounge. The shower facilities came in particularly handy during this layover.

Dining in the Sky

I took advantage of Singapore Airlines' excellent Book the Cook service on both flights - something I'd highly recommend doing. The pre-ordered meals were fantastic, perfectly prepared and presented. On the DPS-SIN leg, I enjoyed a hearty rice dish with chicken, while the SIN-HKG sector featured a delicious steak. The cheese course and dessert service were particular highlights.

Service Excellence

If there's one thing that sets Singapore Airlines apart, it's their service. The crew on both flights were exceptional - attentive without being intrusive, professional yet warm. This consistently high level of service is why I keep coming back to Singapore Airlines when traveling in Asia.

Comfort and Rest

Despite these being relatively short flights, I managed to squeeze in a comfortable nap between the generous meals. The fully-flat bed, complete with comfortable bedding, made this easy. While I didn't need a full night's sleep on these sectors, I've always found Singapore Airlines' business class perfect for proper rest on longer flights.

Value for Points

At 34,000 KrisFlyer miles plus minimal taxes for both sectors in business class, this represents excellent value.

The Verdict

Singapore Airlines continues to deliver one of the most consistent and enjoyable business class experiences in the sky. Whether you're on their regional or long-haul aircraft, you can expect the same high standards across the board. The combination of comfortable seats, excellent Book the Cook dining, and world-class service makes any flight with them a pleasure.

Is it worth transferring your points to KrisFlyer? If you're planning a trip to Asia, absolutely. Just remember that KrisFlyer miles expire after 36 months, so plan your transfers accordingly.
